The $110 Papaya and the inncocent Mosquito

Fruits can be expensive. Especially those air-flown from Japan. Nice melons, grapes, strawberries and their oh so infamous watermelons that you only eye candied them at the local Meidya Japanese Supermart.
But papaya? Have you ever had a $100 papaya? Not me, but my dear Maoster did.
My mil decided to give him a nice look at how a REAL papaya looks like from the inside. Not the usual that he normally sees, nice cubes of orangy goodness. So full of vitamins she always stressed. Maoster got so excited and demanded that I carried him to see how the papaya was "executed". Seeing that my MIL was in her educational mood once again, i decided to give Maoster some papaya seeds to feel and touch to complete her class.
10 mins later, my beloved Maoster broke out in HIVES.
RED, NASTY, ITCHY, SCRATCHY HIVES.
LOTS OF THEM.
PLENTY OF THEM
ZILLIONS OF THEM
ALL OVER HIM INCLUDING HIS IMPISH ALMOST NEAR PERFECT FACE.
It cost me $50 to rush him to the GP on Sunday in the evening. On Tuesday, he wasn't well. It cost me another $60 to get him to a PD before Aung and myself fly off to Phuket for our anniversary trip.
The PD says that papaya and mango are 2 fruits that will easily sparkles off hives for babies and toddlers. An expensive advice learnt.
But, Mao in good spirit blames it on no one except the poor innocent mosquito. He is still playing and running around although we look at his bloated face with much dismay and aches.

He says "NAUGHTY MOSQUITO!, DON'T BITE ME!" whenever he feels the itch is way too much to bear. He says it with much anger and intensity.
And..... the MIL and me are keeping very quiet. Ahhhh... the mosquito won't mind taking the rap.

Sorry Mosquito. We'll pay you with our blood.

PS: There's no picture taken on Maoster and his hives. Daddy forbids it. :P

Only by touching the seed and sap, the fruit won't cause any allergy. It's still a good fruit for kids!!!
